The Show-Me Academy™ leadership team comprises a mix of professional coaches, support staff, and parent volunteers who are committed to the organization’s approach and mission. The Academy’s instructors bring a wealth of experience both as coaches and individual competitors. The main coaching staff include Darrius Little, Head Wrestling Coach; Aleides Gomes, Head Jiu Jitsu/Self-Defense Coach; Eric Da Silva, Assistant Jiu Jitsu Coach; Craig Powell, co-founder; and, Cory Flashner, co-founder.
Show-Me Academy is supported administratively by Emily McClarnon and Suzanne Early.
Darrius is the former assistant coach of Brown University’s Division I Wrestling Program. Darrius was the lead assistant at Brown from 2018 through 2022 before moving on to pursue his MBA. However, he never left behind his passion for coaching young athletes and is excited to lead the Show-Me Academy Wrestling Program.
Coach Powell is a successful business executive as well as a former Division I Wrestler. Coach Powell began wrestling at five years old, went on to win over 118 high school wrestling matches, remained undefeated with a 63-0 record in both his junior and senior years of high school
Cory Flashner is a successful attorney with Mintz Levin as well as a former college wrestler. Prior to joining Mintz Levin’s white-collar crimes and litigation practice, Cory served as a federal and state prosecutor.
