ALEIDES GOMES

Aleides Gomes, who competes under the name “Wahset,” is an advanced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor and competitor.  Wahset is a four-stripe purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has competed in 15 national grappling competitions as part of the Brazil 021 Fight team, under the direction of Coach Anderson Silveiro.  

Wahset is an advanced self-defense and mixed combat fighting instructor with over 20 years of experience.  He is the 2008 Golden Gloves boxing champion, as well as 4x national Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grappling champion. Prior to joining the Show-Me Academy team, Wahset was the head combat coach at Redline Fight Academy in Cambridge.
